Um, I think I bought his uniform a little too big...we'll stick with this team for a while!
The cheerleaders...Andreas finally had his first game this past Sat., at 8 am, and his team won! Hooray! Andreas scored a goal and the team really knows how to set up plays and work together.
The team he played for last year did not know how to work together, and they lost every game. Andreas was very frustrated at the end of the second season. Since he loves the game and seems to have potential, we sent him to a camp last summer that was for a select team which we thought he might try out for. That turned out to be a very bad move, as the coaches and players were all quite mean and snobbish. Andreas told us he liked the camp at the time, andhe stuck it out, but over the past few months he has told us that he didn't like it at all. He just didn't want to disappoint us. Oh my heart!!! The other players were WAY advanced and they pretty much shunned him. I'm so glad we figured out that wasn't for us before trying out for that club! We have apologized to him and told him he never has to go through that again.
Back to his current team, the Youngbloods...his coach is great, he himself played in high school. He is very organized and very positive. Andreas has played with a few of the guys on other teams in the past two years, so it was very comfortable for him to join this new team. We are glad to be back in the rec. league we know, but on a team that has more serious players on it. The reason he didn't have his first game until now is that Hurricane Ike cancelled the season opener, and last week was his teams' bye.
