N. is right in the middle, really enjoying herself! She sang just about every song, with the hand motions.

N. and some of her school buddies (she is in plaid, on the left)

Caroling with the Brownies -- I. is in the red shirt/brown pants with the red hair bow. The lady in the wheelchair was so animated and so happy to hear us all sing (and to join in as best she could!) Some of the nursing home residents were very sad and forlorn and it was hard not to cry when I saw them (I don't think the girls were as aware).

I just love Christmas carols. It is one of my favorite things about this time of year. I get a little tired of the various renditions on the radio, but I love to hear the kids sing and have a chance to sing myself. I love to the sing the old carols in church mixed in with newer worship songs. I enjoyed caroling at a gathering on Wednesday morning with my ladies Bible study -- we were accompanied by an accomplished pianist and wonderful violinist. It was soooo fun and relaxing. The traditional songs are so rich with God's love and the purpose of Jesus' birth.Anyway, I. got to perform at a nursing home with the Little Stars last weekend, as well as caroling with the Brownies at another nursing home later in the day. N. was in her "school" program yesterday. Such sweet moments...
I've been trying to post video of the two girls, but it's not working.
In just a little while, N. and I will go up to the Elementary School for A. and I.'s "winter" parties (so sad that they can't say "Christmas" parties...). Then it is 2 weeks of break, and do we ever need it! Woo hoo!

I am with you. When I am singinng "Away in a Manger" and "O Little Town of Bethlehem" - I can really praise God with my heart and soul and voice. Grant is singing the REAL Joy to the World (the Lord is Born, Let Earth Receive Her King) today and told me he loves singing songs about Jesus and Christmas. But yesterday was a whole other story!
Have you heard the following? AS FOLLOWS: Joy to the World the Barbie is dead, we BBQed her head. What happened to her body, we flushed it down the potty. Around, around it goes, around, around it goes. Around, around, around it goes. This is what comes home from school when you have 3 boys! ARGH! My Mom did not like that version! Love ya, Steph. Glad you get some Mom time this Christmas, too. :)
